Is Taylor Swift Performing at the Super Bowl?
At this point, reports of Taylor Swift performing during the Super Bowl halftime are purely speculative. Still, it would make sense, considering legions of Swifties would be glued to their television sets to watch their pop princess dance and prance in front of over 100 million viewers.
And those fans of Taylor Swift could be turned into fans of the NFL, generating higher ratings and, thus, the league’s holy grail, greater revenues. The NFL cannot get enough publicity, and the rampant rumors of Taylor Swift’s appearance on the league’s grandest stage on February 8th are good for business.
Recently, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sat down with the “Today” show and was asked about the possibility of Swift performing as the main attraction of the Super Bowl halftime celebration.
“We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time,” Goodell said when asked if Swift was invited to play the Super Bowl.
“Is it in the works?” Today show host Savannah Guthrie asked.
“I can’t tell you anything about it,” Goodell replied.
“Is it a maybe?” Guthrie followed up.
“It’s a maybe,” Goodell hedged.
That is as close to confirmation as we have, but those who like to put their money where their mouths are can find a Taylor Swift prop at one of the many top-tier offshore sportsbooks.
Drew Brees Expands His Role at OwnersBox
Drew Brees was an early investor in the emerging daily fantasy sports site, OwnersBox, and now he is stepping from the sidelines into the game, as it was recently announced that the former All-Pro quarterback has become a brand ambassador for the relative newcomer to the DFS industry.
Brees has been vocal about his expanded role with the company, saying, “It’s a platform I truly believe in, and I can’t wait to share my passion for OwnersBox with fans everywhere.”
OwnersBox has also partnered with supermarket giant Kroger, and according to Steve Watkins of the Cincinnati Business Courier, the new Kroger Play “enables gamblers to access three sports betting operators from one site.”
Those three sites are ESPN Bet for sports betting, Penn Entertainment for online casino gambling, and OwnersBox for daily fantasy sports. OwnersBox is now active in 36 states, the District of Columbia, and throughout Canada.
